The differences between the Unix variant operating systems such as BSD, Linux, Solaris, OS X and etc. and FreeBSD are subtle. However, with a simple argument, we can definitely say that FreeBSD allows its users to get relaxed about the GPL 2/3 issues, enabling them to completely do what they want over a compacted system- kernel, and not just glued parts from all over the world.
